"The principle of true art is not to convey, but to provoke"
-Jerzy Kosinski
Morgan is a visual artist studying art education and art history at one of the best colleges in the midwest.
She describes her art as an act of courage, an act of survival, resistance, a cathartic process of addressing trauma, heavy emotions, and the beauty of nature, and the impacts of human interaction. She enjoys working in continuous and blind contours, and layering colors to create work with a sense of depth and interaction between the line and color(s).
Many of her works are inspired by text, poetry, or popular phrases in her culture.
By taking inspiration from her faith in Jesus Christ, Morgan offers a beautiful and refreshing picture of what it means to believe in the gospel, in the promises, and in the love of God. Throughout her work, there are reoccurring themes from her experience as a woman of faith, her passion for Biblical justice, the beauty of creation, and misconceptions of the Christian faith. She attempts to evoke multiple senses through work that is multidimensional, activating the visual, auditory, and tangible reactions in her viewers.
Morgan works primarily in acrylics and digital drawings, but is also experienced in sculpture, traditional drawing, life drawing, installations, ceramics, photography, videography, oils, ink, and collage.
